Dancing with our stars (21.11.08)

One of the best moments last Friday was the rock&roll of the best team: Pavel Bartoş & Luciana Muntean: not only their suits were funny and original but most of all they "played the game":they enjoyed this dance a lot, despite how tired they were after hours of training...

I also liked the idea that the remaining 3 couples to dance their best dances:
Alina Dumitru & Denis Bolborea, Gina Pistol & Vladimir Palamarciuc:
I put those dances in my previous posts: the gipsy dance for the first team and the Irish dance for the second...
The duel had benefit of the 2 dance groups' participation and so the competitors got well syncronised. Denis was a member of one group and Vladimir of the other, as they danced a lot in the past ...

Wait for my post about the 28 of nov. edition when we'll find out who the big winners will be!!!It is expected to be a catchy show with 3 dance styles for each couple: musical, freestyle and improvisation !
As a bonus, I can hardly wait for the special show on the 1st of december( the national day of Romania...)

American Music Awards 2008

Am I so very glad to write about this musical event!!!
It's a wonder these days when so many good performances gather in one show. They had been so inspired to organize the musical gala this way!!!
Pussycat Dolls-- When I grow up: a sexy song( like all their songs, by the way), teasing and daring.

Mariah Carey-- I stay in love : I still long for the virtuous Mariah from the past, back when she had really been showing her remarkable singing technique (and she had the right songs to do it). Anyway, she can sing live better than most of them...I like her outfit: simplicity makes elegance shine!

Beyonce-- Single ladies : great opening of the performance; she is so attractive, full of energy. Beyonce can boast about her dance moves, saying so much about her as a woman and as an artist. Her voice sounds wonderful live!

Alicia Keys & Queen Latifah-- Superwoman : now, this is a surprise! A special song with a message so important to all the women in this whole world sung by ...well actually by three very talented women...I admit not knowing who the third female singer is, however it stroke me her opera voice (black female singers have so many times fabulous voices!)

Christina Aguilera-- she has chosen to impress us with a medley of her hits. She had problems with her voice; however she appeared as a good entertainer. I appreciate the fact that she returned to the retro style, as the lates changes of her look were weird, to say the least... Anyway, it doesn't mean she's less

Leona Lewis--Better in time: what an honor! She's almost as gifted in music as Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey! Time will tell and it's up to her to show it...Plus she has so much common sense...

Smileys gadget

I enjoy emoticons very much, they really make our written dialogue more alive, more human....I usually like well done smileys, the ones giving you the feeling they are bulging ...So here's a blog entry speaking of a new gadget:

An emoticon keyboard

November 20, 2008 on 1:05 pm | In Fun Stuff |

I saw this on several gadget blogs this week and couldn’t resist posting about it.

A Italian company called andriodesign has created what is most aptly described as an emoticon keyboard. Advertised with the tagline “the new emotional communicator”, the Bajca is a 4×4 grid of emoticon buttons.

Plug Bajca into your computer’s USB port and voila – the bubbly looking device functions as an emoticon keyboard. So if you’re too lazy to type a semi-colon and parentheses for your smiley, or you like to punch out your emotions while you type, Bajca is the answer.

Their press materials also reveal another interesting use for the keyboard: “The keys can also be used to create personal jewelry to wear and show: everyone representing our emotions of everyday life!”. Pluck a button out of the grid and embed it in a ring setting or throw it onto a necklace chain. Now you can wear your emotions on more than just your sleeve!

It’s unclear whether this is just a concept or a product we’ll actually be able to buy. We’ll keep an eye out. In the meantime, you can always refer to our site for the traditional method of typing in the emoticon characters.

This time I wasn't so happy to write about the show...Not to mention it was a disappointment for many, including C. Patrichi, one of the most respected judge...After a series of marks of 10, the team Marius Nedelcu & Alexandra Seleş was eliminated.......For those interested I post a link to a Romanian blog entry discussing the injustice: http://glossymagazine.ro/2008/11/15/dupa-un-sir-nesfarsit-de-10-marius-si-alexandra-au-parasit-dansez-pentru-tine.html
I think that the public shouldn't be the one to make such a serios decision- exclusion of a team from the contest... their judgement is mainly emotional based on the gravity of the case...

Another team that got accustomed to mesmerize us has won first place again:
Pavel Bartoş & Luciana Muntean : what a daring tango - especially talking of her performance; need to say something more of their R&B ? It was so full of personality...and original....Victoria Bucun rulz again!

There was another sensual tango which made a good impression
Giulia & Andrei Ştefan:

Despite what I said about the result of the duel, I think the way it developed was interesting, it had the spectacular sparkle: the suit changes....

This Friday's show had some memorable moments .
One special team, especially thanks to the wonderful artistic personality of the trainer Victoria Bucun, left everybody speechless once again: Pavel Bartoş & Luciana Muntean

I don't enjoy electric boogie, but what they performed was a proof of creativity and it was more than a simple form of breakdance...It's obvious that the trick of hiding P.Bartoş without the burden of performing difficult moves worked in their favor, though the jury noticed the drill...Anyway it shows how hard they both worked...

When one talks about waltz, one of the most beautiful is performed by the talented Laura Cosoi & Bogdan Boantă: wonderful!!! (though it was simply a short demonstration)

By the way, the costumes are splendid!
What can I say about the waltz of another team: Alina Dumitru & Denis Bolborea... I liked the idea, however the marks seemed a bit too low to me...
A well-inspired trick as the change of costumes during the performance can really make the difference: it's so simple and yet it makes a good impression...

The most expected surprise of Friday night was a duet: Ştefan Bănică Jr. & Stela Popescu: words are not enough...I'm attracted by the retro atmosphere bringing us back when people were more...human and romanticism was highly valued ... More than anything dancing & music give an accurate taste of those times... Stela Popescu performed a lot with Ştefan Bănică Jr.'s father ...there were moments when his voice sounded like his father's... Stela Popescu looked great at her age and she acted as she always enchanted us: a great entertainer!

I was impressed by the outfits not only the ones of the singers, but also the dancers' who lured us so artistically to travel back in time and dream

One of the best dances last Friday was the Charleston of the couple

Pavel Bartoş & Luciana Muntean:

Frankly, I didn't see Charleston this way... However they performed great, so much creatively, with irony, playfulness ...Of course, their trainer Victoria Bucun proved once again her talent and sense of humor, directing them to play a couple of parts suitable to their abilities and styles: Pavel Bartoş is a bit slow and heavy: he's more an actor than a dancer, while Luciana Muntean is a great dancer, very flexible and graceful. Anyway this "experiment" was a bit risky, as their trainer provoked them to dress as the opposite sex...Pavel Bartoş dress was hilarious, by the way
Their ingenious trainer repeated the stratergy for the folklore dance as well: she put at good use his acting talent: the part he played is one allowing him somehow to move clumsily and slowly :

It was quite unfair to see Marius Urzică & Larisa Pleşca leave the contest. They deserved better, that's for sure: she's so talented , ambitious and sensitive young girl. Larisa actually performed their goodbay dance crying...An old fashioned charlestone reminding of Charlot...

In each show there are special guests invited to perform in order to help someone in distress, but with great potential. This night's guests were marvelous: they performed a typical Argentinian tango like pros (that's what they truly are)Please welcome:

Sebastian Arce & Mariana Montes

Duffy and Beyonce at MTV Europe Music Awards

17:10 Posted In , , , , , , , , , Edit This 0 Comments »
Duffy sang live at MTV Europe Music Awards: and how she performed!!! Despite her hoarse funny voice when she speaks, when it comes to singing she's just unbelievable. In addition to that, she looked great: a naughty black dress leving a lot of skin exposed, but quite refined:

What an atmosphere: how about that red light!Red & black do wonders!
I'll certainly be back with videos of her, some of them are so moving........

I'm looking forward to her new projects! She's admirable!
I usually like Beyonce's outfits, but this time her singing was the only aspect I've really appreciated: it's one of her new songs: "If I were a boy" and she performed it live very good!
